INTERMEDIATE (Levels 4-6)
ages 11- 16


Level 4 marks the beginning of Intermediate Ballet. The first three years were spent laying the foundation for all future movement. Level 4 has a strong focus on the developement of line. The roles of the students become more demanding both technically and from an interpretive level. Level 5-6 continues to fucus on the elements already taught while developing the appropiate elements of petit allegro (small, quick jumps) , adagio (slow, suspended movements incorporating leg extensions), grand allegro (big, expansive movements and jumps), musicality and line. Additional focus is also placed on pas de deux (partnering), character, contemporary and other dance forms          REGISTRATION Form

  *  3 sessions (Fall, Winter, Spring) in the school year (Sept - May)
 **  Registration Fee:  $35.00  (one time yearly due at registration)
      Organiation Fee:  $35.00  ($20.00 will be credited back to tuition if parents volunteer)
*** There are no costume fees or performance fees.




Some Things to know:

1. Placement Auditions (for students new to CBA only) are required for all students entering level 2-8. The purpose of the placement audition is to determine the appropriate level the child should be placed in. The student can either audtion during the preset registation times of:
              -  Tuesday, August 20, 2002 (5:30 - 7:00pm) and,
              -  
Saturday, August 31, 2002 (1:30 - 3:00pm),
            If you miss the Open House, you can still be admitted to classes
            by calling 651-290-0513

2. Performance. Level 1-3 students have the oppourtunity, through audition & at the discretion of  the artistic director, to perform in many of the productions produced by Ballet Minnesota. Performance oppourtunities include
              -  River Tour (with Charlie Maguire

Nutcraker (December 18-22, 2002 at The O'Shaughnessy, St Paul)              
              -  
15th annual Minnesota Dance Festival (March 2003) 
              -  
Youth Concert Series
              -  Other concerts will be determined throughout the year.

3. There are no Costume or Performance Fees.

4. Each level is a full year course. Progress into next level is at the determination     of the school director upon completion of each level. Attendance at the graduation     day class (May 2002) is required to pass into the next level.

5. There are 3 sessions (Fall, Winter & Spring) in the CBA school year.
              -  Fall:         September 9, 2002 - November 24, 2002
              -  Winter:     November 25, 2002 - March 2, 2003
              -  Spring:     March 3, 2003 - May 17, 2003
